I design basic, static, informational sites using web design programs including Microsoft's Frontpage and, my preferred program, Namo WebEditor.  My websites do not incorporate Flash and Perl / CGI scripts, and are not intended to, or capable of complex dynamic hosting required by active business and commerce sites.  Rather, my sites serve as an updatable, graphically uniform, virtual brochure.  

This format is ideal for individual persons and small businesses that need a presence on the internet, but do not want to conduct the majority of their business through the internet.  It grants worldwide, unlimited exposure, with information that is always available, 24/7, to possible clients when you might not be.  It is also an extremely cost-effective advertising method, saving you money on phone bills, and printing and mailing costs.  Perhaps the most beneficial aspect of having a website is the anonymity it offers to the prospective client.  One thing is always certain, and I will apply this to myself.  When it comes to getting information on a product or service, people are generally lazy and prefer to be anonymous. For some reason, it is a lot easier to sit at home in your boxer shorts at 3 AM
